It's also near the sea, and the beach is just five minutes walk from the hotel. This applies even to reach the famous Borly park which is an extension of the racetrack, and therefore is very close to the hotel! There are some shops around, especially on the embankment near the beach and restaurants. It is a perfect hotel for a relaxing family holiday, and while it's not particularly close to the centre of the city, it's easy enough to get in and out.

The city itself was a surprise because we expected it to be smaller and turned out to be bigger and cozy, even magical with a very good atmosphere. We slept in "la petite maison de Carla" and that was a surprise, a hotel that was very well located, nice, with nice details and a run by Maria, a Spanish based in Aix who was very saucy and will help you with whatever little thing. The room costs 90 euros with breakfast.

This is a guesthouse in the city centre of Marseille, only about 4 minutes away from the bus station and about 20 minutes from the port, where everything happens. Towels can be rented for 1 euro. It's simple, clean, and pleasant, with a central common area with a microwave, outdoor tables, and a bar. We paid 25 euro a head, in the off season.
