In Cusco we went to Hostal Mallqui for $ 30 a night, we rented a double room with private bathroom and hot water. This hotel chain of the Amaru chain but $ 10 cheaper. We recommend it 100% . The staff are are very friendly, the hotel is clean and they didn´t charge for baggage when we went. Also, we liked the decor. We stayed in this hotel the nights of 26/12 and 28/12 to 31/12. The night of 27/12 was spent in Aguas Calientes. After we were through Puno and Copacabana and in the end we went back to Cusco on the last night because from there we went back to the plane.

Last year I went on a trip to the ruins of Machu Picchu and found a spot at Km 104, the hydroelectric dam at Machu Picchu, where I stayed with my family for two days, the first photo is a view from the ruins to the river Vilcanota. At that moment here is a path towards Machupicchu, which is an hour away on foot. From there you can go up to the Sun Gate

    amerinka hotel boutique
    Hotels in
    Cusco
The beautiful, little Amerinka Boutique Hotel is very well located in Cusco, just a few blocks from Central Square, at Av Marquez 272, and the railway station that leads to the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. It is located in the historic colonial Casco Monumental, so you can easily explore the city and at night, especially, the walks are wonderful. An easy and leisurely walk to museums, churches, squares, monuments and to places off the beaten path to discover some unusual places. The service is polite and thoughtful. It's a very nice place. The rooms are spacious and the public spaces are very warmly decorated.

It is built in a 16th century mansion, the hotel is accessed by a large gate which leads to a covered patio. Breakfast is served in the courtyard. On this floor is the reception, restaurant and cafeteria, there an access point for Internet. The hotel has a new part with standard rooms on the top floor there are superior rooms, these rooms are each decorated differently, being in the colonial part of the building, they have very high ceilings and some walls three feet thick. It is a beautiful hotel and the staff is very friendly, you indicate how to get anywhere, I recommend places to visit. The hotel is located right in the historic center of Cuzco, Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral are a three minute walk.

    casa de mama cusco hostel
    Hotels in
    Cusco
La Casa de Mama is a beautiful hostel in the neighbourhood of San Blas in Cusco. Service is provided by the charming Carmen, who will make you feel right at home. Our room was lovely, with a charming view of the city that encouraged us to have our breakfast in the room. The rooms are spacious, with a wardrobe and desk, dining table and mini-kitchen with stove, microwave, refrigerator, and everything you need for cooking. Two of the walls are large glass windows, so you can sleep and wake up admiring the beautiful view of the city. The ensuite bathroom is simple, but with plenty of hot water and a hairdryer. The wifi is free, with a great signal. It's in one of the oldest parts of Cusco, in a higher part of the city. To get here, you'll need to climb a small hill - but it's worth it, because the neighbourhood is very charming, with narrow streets, houses built on Incan ruins, and some good views of the city. Furthermore, there are plenty of craft workshops in the area. By the way, on the road between the square and the hostel there's a good selection of restaurants and bars, such as Jack or Inkafe Cafe. In January 2012, we paid around $40 a night. Highly recommended for a quiet stay where you feel at home, with beautiful views of the city in a good location at a reasonable price.

    andean wings hotel
    Hotels in
    Cusco
If you're looking for a luxury hotel option in Cusco, then give the Andean Wings a go. The service is just perfect, from booking to departure. It has an excellent location, a few blocks from the Plaza de Armas and close to plenty of good dining options like Chica. The rooms all have different decor: the Illary suite, for example, has a colonial bed with an iron headboard, fur rugs and wooden furniture. There's a large wardrobe, tables and chairs, heating, safe, huge bed, an a hydro bath. The bathroom is comfortable, with plush bathrobes and towels. The chandelier over the bed adds a touch of luxury. The hotel has a restaurant, where coffee is served in the morning, and lunch and dinner feature dishes from the local cuisine. There is also a bar, Mandela bar, where you can enjoy drinks based on the local specialty, Pisco. It has free wifi with good signal all over the hotel. Recommended.

    don bosco hotel
    Hotels in
    Cusco
This small, friendly 2-star hotel was our choice for our stay in Cusco. It is 200 metres from the Plaza de Armas. It's great to have hot water all the time (believe me, in the cold of Cusco it makes a real difference), and the staff are very attentive and always happy to help you. Breakfast is very good - they offer three types of bread, jams, cheese, ham, fruit, butter, and hot dishes like sausage and eggs, sometimes a delicious guacamole, yogurt, juices, cereals, milk and coffee. Highly recommended for a good stay in Cusco at an affordable price.

    Youth Hostels in
    Cusco
This is one of the best places I've stayed in my life. I stayed in a room for 8, which was spacious and clean. The hostel has an outdoor area which is nice, full of beanbags, table tennis, an internet cafe (free), a TV room, and an excellent bar. The bar is also a restaurant, and I tried some of the food, which was great. They offer happy hour deals at the bar, too. The hostel has a travel agency that offers shuttle services to Machu Picchu and other attractions outside the city. I made great friends here, and I know I'll be back.

    eureka san blas hotel
    Hotels in
    Cusco
The Eureka in Cusco (Peru) is a good option for those looking to stay in this city. It has good rooms with free wi-fi, everything is very clean, and they offer enough refreshments in the morning to keep you going during your day of sightseeing. Depending on the room, you can also have a beautiful view, and there's great decoration everywhere. The staff are very friendly, too, and will do their best to help you during your stay (I speak from experience ... there was a water shortage when I stayed in 2012, and the staff were great). Looking at the map, the Plaza de Armas seems quite far away, and walking at an altitude of 3400m can be a little daunting if you're not used to it, but remember that taxis here are very cheap. It's worth paying in cash, as Peruvian establishments usually add a card-handling fee if you pay by card. There's an ATM in the shop in front of the hotel.

    colonial palace hotel
    Hotels in
    Cusco
The hotel is an old colonial house which was converted to a hotel in the eighteenth century. It is very cozy, with brightly decorated colonial period details. Saddles, wooden figurines, copper utensils, etc.. The highlight of the hotel, is it's two large colonial style courtyards that serve as dining areas in the summer. It is a quiet hotel, with 40 rooms in the mansion area. Its very close to the Plaza de Armas, the heart of Cuzco, just two blocks away.

    hotel niños

    Cusco
This hotel had an optimum accommodation option in Cuzco. This is because it is part of a foundation of social projects sponsored by the revenue of the hotel. They help disadvantaged children with their studies, teaching some courses. Located in an old colonial house, the hotel has a courtyard where guests can relax, have a coffee, or simply try one of the restaurant's local delicacies (the pumpkin soup to warm the cold city nights). It's rooms are small, with shared bathrooms, but the decor is exquisite, with vases of fresh flowers.

    the point hostal cuzco
    Hotels in
    Cusco
The Point Hostal is ideal for those seeking to visit the world and party a bit while they're at it! Located less than ten minutes from the Plaza de Armas, the hostel offers various group activities, a bar and a fairly large garden. The value value for money is great and breakfast is included in the stay. The staff is very nice but the place really comes alive during the themed evening get-togethers at the bar. Think things like poker tournaments, barbecues, and the like.

    hostal qorichaska cusco

    Cusco
We chose this hotel for the its ratings, and we were not wrong. It is located near the city center, which is really an advantage, it is on a very quiet and peaceful street, close to a small square where you can enjoy being being surrounded by mountains, and has a free shuttle that takes you to the center, the airport, a restaurant, etc.. The service and attention of the staff is incredible, you feel like a king. No restaurant, but they have a breakfast room, and we had dinner there too, we bought food to take away and we had a quiet and private dinner there using dishes, glasses and utensils. Breakfast good and varied breads, ham, cheese, cereal, coffee, milk, juice, toast, eggs cooked to order by a chef ve is always attentive to what you want. The rooms are small but very comfortable, with private bathrooms and hot water 24 hours. They have wifi, a desk, heating (despite going in September, it gets quite cold, but the room is kept warm), closet, safe. Rooms share a living room where tea is served, comfortable sofas and TV (for those ve need even when on vacation in Cusco). We went on the Tour to Macchu Picchu with hotel and everything was perfect. There was a small problem with a transport that fixed it right away and apologized for the inconvenience. Everything was arranged, after we left the hotel, urban transport, train, guide, tickets to Macchu Picchu, return all without any problem, allowing you to just sit and enjoy the experience. In conclusion,I would return to this hotelwithout hesitation, and I would highly recommend it.

    belmond hotel monasterio
    Hotels in
    Cusco
Situated in the beautiful plaza Nazarene, in the center of the San Blas neighborhood, Hotel Monasterio is one of those places that leaves you speechless. Is it because in Cuzco there are not many luxury hotels that are so exquisite and beautiful. The hotel is in a former monastery that was constructed in 1592. It has a huge patio surrounded by wide galleries which operates one of the dining rooms, and a chapel, preserved as it was many centuries ago. As for its 126 rooms, all are luxurious and decorated with good taste. A place to pamper yourself or entertain your partner.

Hostal Cusco Plaza is a nice place to stay in Aguas Calientes, the town at the foot of Machu Picchu. It's well located near the train station and bus station where you depart for Machu Picchu. I particularly liked the fact that all the rooms have views over the river and the mountains bordering Aguas Calientes.

This is a cozy, charming placem with a special soul. There aren't many places like this in Peru - perhaps not even in the whole world. Here you'll feel right at home, in this warm, colourful environment. In this beautiful inn you can sit, chatting with the friendly waiters while you wait to try the food prepared by youngsters building a new future for themselves, under the watchful eye of the master Italian chef. You can cook, there's a nice deck, a common room with games and many books, a wonderful courtyard, free internet connection, and a television room. The rooms are small, but are well maintained, each with named after members of the Spanish-Italian family who founded this wonderful place.

Tambopata Eco Lodge is a clean nature lodge with good facilities, spacious rooms, good food, and a friendly and efficient staff. It's also very safe, provided you follow the staff's recommendations about not bringing food into the room and keeping the door closed. They facilities are also designed to keep insects out, which is a plus. The best part: the sounds of nature in the jungle at night and the alligator spotting excursions. It also made me appreciate the value of disconnecting and getting away from technology.

This hotel is part of the Orient Express, and is the only hotel situated adjacent to the ancient citadel, right at the door. Of course this was a great place to relax, but it also has its drawbacks. Once the citadel closes, there is nothing else around and the town is a half hour drive away and the coaches coming up to the citadel have a restricted schedule , so you get a bit isolated.
