Well, I think this is where you will find the best and the most authentic Pastéis of Belém. These are small, sweet pastries filled with cream which is said to have been inherited from the ancient monastery of Geronimo monks of the order of Geronimos and is located right next to the bakery. The recipe is a secret, though, and it is said that only the great chefs here know how to make them. The bakeries are always crowded but are very fast and efficient when they care of you. First go through box and say how many pastries you want. Then you get a ticket andt then you give your ticket to one of the staff of the bar and you get your pastries. They put them in a box with two packets, one with cinnamon and the other with glazed sugar to put on top of the pastries. If you pass by Lisbon don´t forget to go to this place.

It had majestic coffee back in the 20s and had a clientele of prominent politicians and artists with big gatherings and debates, it was interesting and I propose a visit even if it is just for a wonderful coffee . According to records, this is the oldest brewery in operation in Portugal. Located in the ¨Barrio Alto¨, it is located at the site of the former Convent of the Holy Trinity. It was founded in 1294 and after its destruction after the great earthquake, it was rebuilt as a brewery. The dining room is decorated with beautiful tiles. There you can also enjoy traditional Portuguese dishes at a reasonable price, which is great for a visiting tourist ve doesn´t want to spend too much money.
Meta Dos Leitoes, or the goal of the piglets in English, is one of the many typical regional restaurant in central Portugal. They specialize in a great dish of suckling pig accompanied by potatoes and lettuce. Supposedly, it's one of the best restaurants in the area of this specialty, but it also has a variety of other dishes to choose from. When we arrived, which wasn't late, the two dinning room restaurant was almost full. The original Meta dos Leitoes is next to another famous restaurant [poi = 115300] "Pedro dos Leitoes" [/ poi] and the road to Porto. Although it's not very cheap, the pork was delicious and the sparkling wines to accompany this dish are typical of the area. Opposite is a large car park.

The truth is that this cafe is one of the most charming places I visited on my trip to the Portuguese coast. It's like a kind of regional home. The are where the building is located is from the last century and has a strong Arab influence. It is a place with arches, courtyards and fountains, and has a grand staircase leading up to the top floor. During the day the cultural center has many events and there is a restaurant where many weddings take place. It's worthwhile to enter to see the architecture and decor in the building.
I went to this iconic café during my visit to Coimbra last year and I consider it a must in the same way that [poi = 59576] Majestic coffee [/ poi] in Porto is a must. This luxurious cafe was inaugurated in 1923 in its namesake plaza, but today offers more affordable prices than it once did. The cafe was once a chapel attached to the Monastery of Santa Cruz, and the previous Manueline-style architecture with its very wide rooms and high ceilings still stands, complete with the stained glass found in most medieval chapels. It's very close to the financial and commercial center of the college-town of Coimbra. Close by, there's a large pedestrian street known as "A Baixa! or Ferreira Borges street where you can find all kinds of shops for clothes, watches, shoes, jewelry, etc.
This is a restaurant we always go to when we visit Algarve and of course Lagos, one of the most beautiful cities in the whole area. It´s a luxury for its absence, but its comfortable, nice, with good service and very centric You must try its seafood rice and above all the prawns made in a Mozambique style.
If you are in Portugal, it is an absolute must to try the cod. This particular restaurant offers a menu with multiple options and fine wines. I recommend that you book because, especially on weekends, it can get very busy. Cando gets very busy and the staff leaves a bit to be desired, but I recommend patience, because when you try the cod, you will completely forget the disappointment ... I also recommend sitting on the floor near the windows, the view of the Douro is beautiful.
This is maybe the most emblematic and traditional coffee bar in the city of Braga, and has been open since 1858. It is located in the basement and porches of the building known as Arcade, in the center of Praça da República, where there is a terrace that is always full of people. It is a very nice place to drink, from a simple soda, ice cream or beer, a good breakfast or snack accompanied by a slice of cake or a pastry. The décor inside the restaurant is in the style of an old 19th century coffee bar, predominantly made of wood and marble.
I found O Comercial when I was making a visit to the Palace of the Bolsa. It is the best-kept secret in the city. It is in the Palace and has impressive architecture. The cuisine is modern Portuguese and it has an interesting ambient. A tasting menu made up of 7 plates is 25 Euros and also has a Day menu with 3 plates and a glass of wine for 13 Euros. The perfect ending to our visit to Porto!
One of the most magical places in Lisbon. It's an association that has a school of arts and entertainment for underprivileged children. That alone is pretty interesting, but the association also has a hotel complex that is simply stunning. Inside you can see a circus show, a concert or a play while enjoying a beer, cocktail or just while having dinner or a snack. This resort has a large central courtyard where you can enjoy one of the best and most pleasant views of this magical city. You MUST visit this place.
Located opposite the River Duero, with spectacular views towards the city of Porto, this restaurant of Vila Nova de Gaia is ideal for an informal meal enjoyed on its terrace. The tavern specializes in all types of seafood, fried sardines, cheeses, and the famous bacalao. The place is one of the oldest of the Vila Nova de Gaia. It has an excellent winery.
Definitely the best restaurant in Lisbon. We booked a reservation on the 14th of February and they gave us a table. The truth is that the service was exquisite and the food as well, such a delicacy. I had the best scallops I´ve ever had!. I will return without doubt.
It never failed, whenever we ate in Ericeira we went to Furnas. Or maybe it was the opposite and we always went to Ericeira to eat there. I´m not sure, but you can eat here one of the best fresh local fish, at a fairly nice price and if you're lucky, on the beautiful terrace overlooking the sea.
If you are fans of the sweet and good environments and coincidentally if you're visiting the Portuguese capital, I recommend going to the Pastelería Nacional. With classic décor maintained since 1829, its two whole screed floors offer everything you can imagine with a great atmosphere in which to spend the afternoon in a typical city with a pastry, especially the cream cakes (which I strongly recommend). Definitely a place to visit and to photograph!
We went to this place to eat after we walked around the city and the truth is that the quality of its cuisine surprised us. They gave us the recommendation of the chef for free, which was a blood sausage with carmelized apple and red bell pepper froth that was to die for! What I liked most were the sardines in a traditional conserve (made by themselves), that reminded me of the soft flavor of the ocean. Also the carpaccio of Bacalao was good, and then a little orange cake with ginger cookie over an orange gelatin. Mmmm, the price was really good. With many beers we left paying 22@ a person.
