Cafés in Porto
Majestic Café
You cacn have a coffee or something to eat, both on the terrace and the inside, and it is a pleasure, as well as the place it is situated: Rua Santa Catarina n º 112 4000-442 Porto, Portugal - Tel: 222 003 887 - history says that it was more than a coffee that tells the story of Porto . It had majestic coffee back in the 20s and had a clientele of prominent politicians and artists with big gatherings and debates, it was interesting and I propose a visit even if it is just for a wonderful coffee . Coffee in Portugal are taken differently, people like to savor its aroma. Happy travels to Porto, a lovely city.
Restaurants in Vila Nova de Gaia
Restaurante Bacalhoeiro
If you are in Portugal, it is an absolute must to try the cod. This particular restaurant offers a menu with multiple options and fine wines. I recommend that you book because, especially on weekends, it can get very busy. Cando gets very busy and the staff leaves a bit to be desired, but I recommend patience, because when you try the cod, you will completely forget the disappointment ... I also recommend sitting on the floor near the windows, the view of the Douro is beautiful.
Cafés in Braga
Cafe Vianna
This is maybe the most emblematic and traditional coffee bar in the city of Braga, and has been open since 1858. It is located in the basement and porches of the building known as Arcade, in the center of Praça da República, where there is a terrace that is always full of people. It is a very nice place to drink, from a simple soda, ice cream or beer, a good breakfast or snack accompanied by a slice of cake or a pastry. The décor inside the restaurant is in the style of an old 19th century coffee bar, predominantly made of wood and marble.

O Comercial
I found O Comercial when I was making a visit to the Palace of the Bolsa. It is the best-kept secret in the city. It is in the Palace and has impressive architecture. The cuisine is modern Portuguese and it has an interesting ambient. A tasting menu made up of 7 plates is 25 Euros and also has a Day menu with 3 plates and a glass of wine for 13 Euros. The perfect ending to our visit to Porto!
Restaurants in Vila Nova de Gaia
Taberninha do Manel
Located opposite the River Duero, with spectacular views towards the city of Porto, this restaurant of Vila Nova de Gaia is ideal for an informal meal enjoyed on its terrace. The tavern specializes in all types of seafood, fried sardines, cheeses, and the famous bacalao. The place is one of the oldest of the Vila Nova de Gaia. It has an excellent winery.

Vinhas D'alho
We went to this place to eat after we walked around the city and the truth is that the quality of its cuisine surprised us. They gave us the recommendation of the chef for free, which was a blood sausage with carmelized apple and red bell pepper froth that was to die for! What I liked most were the sardines in a traditional conserve (made by themselves), that reminded me of the soft flavor of the ocean. Also the carpaccio of Bacalao was good, and then a little orange cake with ginger cookie over an orange gelatin. Mmmm, the price was really good. With many beers we left paying 22@ a person.

Restaurante A Grade
This restaurant has a lovely, but tiny terrace and it's quite pleasant. The staff is friendly and they know how to treat their guests right. Extensive menu, with a sizable and unique wine list. Generous portions, good cod. But the price is high for it being in Portugal (25 euros per person). Something I couldn't look past was that no credit cards are accepted, only cash. Unforgivable!
Restaurants in Guimarães
Restaurante Mumadona
If you don´t want to spend 10€, don´t eat in the town square of Guimarao. If you walk up toward the castle, there´s a cozy little corner restaurant that serves homemade soup, an entree and a drink for 5€. If you want dessert too, it´s 1.50€ but definitely worth it.
Restaurants in Melgaço
Jardim Restaurant
This restaurant is a bit difficult to find if you are not familiar with the area, it is in a lovely setting surrounded by mountains, vineyards and nature and I found it by asking a native Portuguese person, which we were grateful for, because we loved it. The restaurant is about 6 km from Melgaco and has been serving customers mostly Portuguese, for over 36 years, and what attracts you is its food, its environment and their great prices. The house specialty is the Portuguese stew, very similar to ours but without chickpeas, cod and kid. It has a big selection of homemade desserts traditional of the region and its wine cellar was awarded for their high quality of Albariño wines. A recommended place if you appreciate Portuguese food, wines and are in this area of northern Portugal. So cheap!
Cafés in Porto
Café Piolho
It is a bar frequented by young people, university students and tourists. They say that the revolution started here. THe food is delicious and at a good price. Also it is a place to go for some beers. It has a terrace that is closed where you can eat. They let us stay there with our dogs. The waiters are very attentive.
Restaurants in Valença
Chrurrascaría Escondidinho Restaurant
The quality here is excellent, as are the prices. I recommend the Escondidinho cod and the grilled octopus. It is advisable to go early, as it fills up quickly. No reservations. You take a number when you get there if the dining room has already filled up.
Restaurants in Vila Praia de Âncora
Portobello Restaurant
If you go to this village in the north you really should go through the second place, which has the right people, there's a way to get to this delicious restaurant. The excellent treatment, always aware that you do not miss anything and if you like what you have. That's twice I've gone to this place and hope to return. First we ate cod in our house that was very rich and more recently came back and devour a succulent "Parrilhada of Peixe" was exquisite. Tell them leftover ration and that we are dining. The prices were about what you would expect for the quality of the food that was served.
Restaurants in Porto
Restaurante Brisa
The Brisa Restaurant is in one of the most important streets of Oporto, and they have parking at the back, ie in Rua Roberto Ivens. This is a fairly large restaurant, and is often difficult to fill, we did not need to book directly and it was half empty. A good choice for lunch or dinner in Porto.
Restaurants in Póvoa de Varzim
Farol Restaurant
Whatever related commentary to the quality of the food in this restaurant speak for itself after 50 minutes of waiting in line for a table. We had no choice but to get up and go, absolutely amazing. More customers than they can deal with and very poor organization.
Restaurants in Viana do Castelo Municipality
Casa de Pasto Maria de Perre
The restaurant Casa de Pasto Maria de Perre, is situated in the heart of Viana do Castelo, on a side street parallel to the promenade at the height of the city's main avenue, the Avenida dos Combatentes of Great War. In Portugal, there is a typical restaurant called Casa de Pasto, and the signature dish is the cooked minhoto, which is very famous in the region. We do not recommend choosing a Sunday to visit the place, because you may be waiting for a good long time ... if you go any other day, for example from Tuesday to Saturday you can will be delighted with delicious dishes, two days we visited the place and ate mirandesa beef, seasoned with orange sauce and roasted goat, of course accompanied by a generous side dishes. We were quite satisfied both of the times we ate there.
Restaurants in Guimarães
Restaurante Cor De Tangerina
Two friends spent the day here and we decided to eat lunch here, the city is worth it and the restaurants really are, too. They're cheap and of good quality. The first dish we ordered was a vegetable puree and the second one was pasta with vegetables and for dessert we ordered pear cake with wildberry jam. With tea and a drink for two people our bill ended up being around 16 euros. We'll definitely go back, without a doubt. Good treatment, beautiful views.

A Marina
Going to one of these restaurants on the banks of the Duero is a must if you go to Porto, you must also try cod, mussels, octopus, and rice. This is one of several that along the way, and I suggest going in the afternoon to book a table by the window to see the sunset on the magnificent Don Luis bridge. The huge amount of tasty food is enough to return to this typical Portuguese place.
