Hard Rock Cafe (New York)
(21)
I can not add much to what has already been said about Hard Rock Café. It's a must-see site before leaving New York. A chain that has spread throughout the world makes more of an appearance in the city that never sleeps than its own streets. Inside there are a lot of guitars, singer´s clothing, a stage, tables to eat and drink ...it´s another world inside a building. It also has has the typical souvenir store. Music lovers and non-lovers ... well ... this is a must visit!

Burger Joint
(16)
While collecting information to make my own guide to New York, I read about this "underground" burger joint. Being a lover of discovering local places, I decided to check this place out. The day I went I was lucky since there wasn´t a line-just a couple of pairs waiting to eat. When you go in, there´s a paper for marking your order. After I decided on everything, I took my paper to the cashier and sat down while I waited for my name to be yelled. The place was rather curious and the workers weren´t so friendly. And the burgers were nothing special. In NY, there are places with excellent burgers with similarly reasonable prices. In short, I expected much more from this Burger Joint.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.
(23)
As soon as we got to Times Square we noticed the ´Bubba Restaurant´ from the movie Forrest Gump. Everything is based on the movie and there was a store too. We were excited to try the bread ... And the garlic one was great. And of course there is a whole array of dishes made with shrimp ... Scrumptious!

The River Café

When we arrived, they had already closed the kitchen, so we only had time to eat a few cheeses and drink a few wines. The place is beautiful, with worthwhile views of the Manhattan skyline. The restaurant has a small pier that you walk out onto from the restaurant. It's right next to the Brooklyn Bridge.

Katz's Deli
(15)
Katz's Deli is a pure New York restaurant. I went in September of last year to eat New York specialties like "the sandwich" and root beer, and "New York cake." The mood and atmosphere of this restaurant is such that you could spend hours people watching, or just observing the unique decor. The walls are covered with photos of stars who have come to eat there. In fact, the famous scene from "When Harry Met Sally" (you know the one) was filmed at Katz's Deli.

Shake Shack

Though this is a chain with seven restaurants, the most beautiful is without a doubt in Madison Square Garden overlooking the Flatiron. There are tables in the park, which is not recommended in winter. The burgers are impressive and can't be described.
Cafés in San Francisco
The Cheesecake Factory
(6)
This is a popular place in San Francisco for a snack. They have typical American food, of course, but the most popular order are the cheesecakes. They're spectacular! Expensive and huge, but spectacular nonetheless. Treat yourself to one and you'll see what I mean. It's a chain, but this is the flagship one, in the heart of Union Square and with great views at the top. The Cheesecake Café is across from Union Square on top of the Macys. It has a fantastic terrace that allows you to see the city from above. Yes, it's always full of tourists and usually on the chilly side on the terrace.

Harry Caray's Italian Steakhouse
(1)
Amid skyscrapers, near Chicago's golden mile, nearly one block away from the river is the famous Harry Caray's restaurant. Well, one of them, because the famous radio commentator has several restaurants, taverns and bars throughout the city, including at the airport. But, perhaps, this is one of the most legendary and well-known. First for its construction because it's a classic building: a three story red brick colonial ... Quite a contrast to the concrete poles that look down and give shade most of the day. This building dates from 1895 and became a restaurant in 1987. A giant mural with a caricature of the owner and a huge baseball bat is at the entrance of the restaurant. And second, because of its location, in the heart of the Windy City, one block from Michigan Avenue and one or two blocks away from the main areas of the city bars. It has two parts, the bar and an Italian type of restaurant. The bar itself is quite American. All wood, with ceiling fans, many bottles behind the bar and TVs, tons of TVs to watch baseball, softball, football, basketball ... Every day the bar shows a different sporting event and the place is always packed. A variety of beers and not too expensive. In addition, there are bar crisps and they're pretty good. Here, the best thing to eat is the hamburgers. It's great to have them in the bar while watching a game with a good beer. Everything's a delicacy and comes with an overdose of fat. The other part of the room is the restaurant. It is an Italian grill, definitely, but with a lot of sports memorabilia, especially baseball, which was Harry Caray's whole life. Here the prices are already slightly inflated, although the food isn't bad. The meat is pretty good. Alongside all this, there's a small souvenir shop in the restaurant. Some other things about this place can be amusing and definitely worthwhile. Not bad if you're just passing through the area and want to have a beer with a burger in a typical American restaurant. Also, it's not too expensive, it's very reasonable. One of the beers that surprised me and that I really liked was the Sam Adams. Highly recommended.

Magnolia Bakery
(11)
The Magnolia Bakery is one of the most famous and well-known bakeries in the city of New York, it's located in the Village. Its most famous product is the cupcakes which are Madeline's covered with colored frosting; they have become very popular because the stars of the series Sex and the City came to this bakery to eat them. The people who come to the place make endless lines, as always there's are people inside and once there they choose the cupcakes they want, put them in boxes (with the logo of the bakery) and then pay at the end.

The Signature Room at the 95th
(7)
Want to go to the John Hancock Tower without paying, without waiting in a queue, without having to ride up with 20 sweaty people on a tiny elevator and, in addition, get to eat while enjoying the sights of Chicago? This is the restaurant that offers the John Hancock center experience, on the 95th floor of the building. You climb a little higher than the balcony so the view is much clearer. The menu is around $20 but the food is more selective than other places. The best thing was the steak. In the evenings you can enjoy the local pianist playing classical to contemporary jazz tunes. For those ve aren´t interested in having dinner, they can always have a drink at the bar while enjoying the Chicago skyline ...

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.
(10)
If you've seen the movie Forrest Gump, you can not miss going to eat at this American franchise but with a shrimp twist. If you haven´t seen the movie, you should go eat there anyways, because it is worth it, although it won´t be the same. Oh, and the movie is awesome. The restaurant is cool, too. It has a great atmosphere and the food is original. The service is also great.
Restaurants in Gurnee
Joe's Crab Shack
Joe's Crab Shack is an American restaurant chain that serves seafood, especially crab. We visited one in Gurnee, northern Illinois, just of the I 94 exist. It was the only thing open at the time, and to be honest we had no idea what to expect. However, it was a satisfactory experience in the end. The place is decorated with a Caribbean sailor style theme, surprising as their specialty, crabs, are caught in the icy waters of Alaska. The decor is nice and the place is great. Furthermore, when a specific song comes on, all the waiters stop what they're doing and start dancing in the middle of the room. Very "made in the USA." If the setting is curious, then the cuisine is as well. On the table you'll find a large roll of paper towels, a galvanized metal bucket to sit around, and a paper bib. The menu is seafood based, but there are also meat dishes and burgers for the kids. The crab pots are the most interesting, which are usually accompanied by prawns, clams, and other seafood items. Of these, you only eat the legs, which are pulled from the body and put on a grill with whichever sauce you prefer. To eat them you need tweezers to break the shell and sticks to remove the meat. The process is laborious, but fun. The crabs are very sweet and juicy. I recommend trying the stew with three different kinds of crab, each with different characteristics. The total was a reasonable price (roughly 15-20 euros a person) and we ate like pigs. The restaurant has a souvenir shop and a playground for the kids to use. It was a good night.

Asia de Cuba

I loved this restaurant, it was a very good experience! The cosmopolitans were delicious! The atmosphere was very cool and casual. The food was good, but a little expensive, but definitely worth it if you go to the "Big Apple." Stop by this restaurant and enjoy dinner to the rhythm of salsa.

Lombardi's Pizza
(20)
Lombardi's pizzeria is one of the most famous in New York and first of all that was open in the big city back in 1905, as a plaque on the facade so certifies. It is located north of the small neighborhood of Little Italy, close to China Town. It is located in 32 Spring Street (and Mott). It is not a big restaurant and its menu shows little variation, only pizzas, calzones and some salads. But, of course, the quality is amazing. Pizzas come in two sizes, six or eight servings, and more ingredients can be added. There are also some ready-made ones. As for the calzones, the signature dish in my opinion, these are quite large and can be filled with numerous "toppings". They all have tomato sauce and other dippings. More or less, it amounts to about 25 euros per person, plus tips. In terms of language, the waiters speak Spanish, so do not worry. The restaurant's quality has not gone unnoticed and it has been mentioned in many newspapers and magazines. Occassionally, it has also appeared in television. Throughout the restaurant there are photos of the owner and the odd personality that drops by occasionally. A good option for lunch if you are in that area.

Hooters New York
(5)
This was the second Hooters I visited during my trip, located in the heart of Manhattan. Nothing new, but a cool environment. The Yankees were playing baseball and it was like a religious service. Lots of people, good service, and American dishes. If you like that, you'll like Hooters. Oh and the waitresses, of course ...

The Knife Restaurant
(3)
The Knife is a good steakhouse in Bayside with all-you-can-eat menus that includes water, a bottle of wine, dessert, and access to a large buffet of appetizers, pasta, vegetables and excellent grilled meats, all at a fair price of $25.75 for lunch on Saturday (it costs less during the week). The restaurant is located on the second floor of the main building of the Bayside Marketplace, just across from the Hard Rock Café. The view of the bay is very beautiful and even the air conditioning is kept at a human level .. definitely recommended!

Virgil's Real Barbecue Restaurant
(10)
My wife and I are passionate about grilled meat and, in the heart of Times Square, we were lucky to find this amazing southern food restaurant! Here, you can enjoy all kinds of grilled meats, smoked with a mix of walnut, oak and fruit which gives a unique color to the meat. If you want to try more or less everything I recommend ordering the Two Meat Combo or Virgil's Pig Out which are platters for two people where they bring a little bit of everything and two extras of your choice (such as macaroni and cheese). All this for less than $ 30. On their website you can find all the information you need, including photos, menus, prices, phone number etc.

Carmine's
(6)
Spectacular! It commands respect immediately, because it gives the appearance of being very expensive, but it is not at all expensive. The pasta dishes are great and enormous! The waiters will warn you that they are for two people minimum, but I would say they are for three. Each dish costs around $ 30. The place is very nice and the service is great. 100% recommended!
