Lake Powell can be found near the town of Page, which is one of the areas with the best access to the lake is, between Arizona and Utah. The lake has become a recreational area with the possibility of boating on the lake and practicing the national sport in the area- fishing. It is an artificial lake created from the construction of the Glen Canyon Dam, completed in 1963. You've got to take a boat ride and see its canons.
Immediately outside Tioga in Yosemite, in the Sierra Nevada, you start a descent woards Lee Vining, but you can still take a stop to visit the small lake that ice always remains in. A charming spot perpetual snows, it lies at over 3000 meters altitude. The sunsets on the lake are breathtaking: the sun gilds the granite of the surrounding summits, especially Lee Vining Peak, and seems to turn it gold. There is a camping area nearby where you can spend the night, so you will need warm clothes, as the night temperatures get very cold in the high mountains even in summer. This is a glorious end to your visit in Yosemite National Park.
This is a panoramic photo. I put 12 photos together, arranged and stuck together using Photoshop CS 3. I took it on a ski trip with friends and well, it took a while to finish it but I'm quite happy with the end result. Hope you like it~
Mammoth lakes can be found in a town in California, USA. It's in the Sierra Nevada mountain range where Yosemite National Park is. Near this village you'll find a mountainous area with some lakes that shares the same name. These lakes are located between Inyo National Forest and Sierra National Forest. This area is a popular fishing destination in the USA and in the winter you can go skiing at Mammoth Mountain Station. While visiting the lakes in June you can see in the photos that there was still some frozen lakes and some snow in some parts.
Tenaya Lake can be found in Yosemite National Park in California, USA. It lies on the road known as Tioga Pass Road, a Mono Lake to Yosemite. If you go into the National Park on this road it's the first really awesome landscape you can enjoy in Yosemite.
Located in the north of Central Park. It is a large lake surrounded by greenery, where many New Yorkers go fishing or walking. I was there in the winter of 2005, the lake was all snowy and icy with ducks seeming to skate along it. The place was beautiful and I hope you like this picture.
In South Lake Tahoe, California, USA you'll have a great time because as we all know there's a beautiful lake where you can do all sorts of water activities ... You'll remember the view of Lake Michigan from this residential building for a lifetime. Although it is quite special, you can enjoy the perspective. It's located almost in Navy Pier, at the end point of the Chicago River.
It is the biggest lake in the whole area amounting to horseshoe lake, the Mary and the twin lakes. It is in the middle of these and to access all of them you have to go on the same road. Driving is a very short ride from the city. In Lake Mary you can do water sports and there are boat rentals. By the road there is a campground, restaurant and parking area for visitors.
At, night this one of the most charming lakes I've ever seen! The breeze from the ocean and jets of water that make you feel at peace and they play music from 19h to 21h30 throughout the entire lake. Everything is very clean and filled with ducks and squirrels, all of them are adorable. I recommend it.
You can find the Eol Lake Park, from 1888 when the land was donated to the city, in downtown Orlando. The highlight of the park is Lake Eola, a 10-hectare body of water with a perimeter of nearly 1.5 kilometres that has an iconic fountain in the centre, about 75 feet deep. The lake is bordered by a pedestrian and cyclist track. At night, the fountain is truly spectacular and the downtown skyscrapers give a magical touch to the park. On the perimeter of the park is the Walt Disney Amphitheater where, every April, there is a Shakespearean festival. Watch how the swans nest and swarm in the park.
After Lake Chelan, Lake Washington is the second largest lake in Washington state and the largest in King County. It is bordered by several cities; Seattle on the west, Bellevue and Kirkland on the east, Renton on the south, and Kenmore on the north. Mercer Island is south of the lake. Its main tributaries are Sammamish River in the far north, and Cedar River in the south. Kayaking gives this lake a special charm and you can visit the sea lions. You can also go diving. It's a spectacular place.
The smaller set of lakes formed by the Horseshoe, the Mary and these. Located closer to the city. One is on a different level from the other and the lowest is fed by a waterfall that comes from the top. The lower lake is surrounded by a camp site and people fish and go boating. Ideal for camping, personally prefer this site to Lake Mary.
The lakes, rivers and ponds of Washington provide unique places to experience the great outdoor waterways in Washington. Suppliers provide boats, paddles and ideas but the final destination is always a floating goal. Few places on the planet offer water protection and preservation with a wide variety of sea creatures as the Strait of Juan de Fuca, Puget Sound and San Juan Islands do. Just a short distance, kayakers can live with seals, sea lions and sometimes orcas.
Lake Hood is the seaplane base and for the largest planes and with the most air traffic in the world and is next to the Anchorage International Airport. 90% of Alaska is only accessible by plane and Alaska has the highest rate in the world of planes per person. The lake itself is very nice, and there are several parks where you can walk around and enjoy the view. The lake is used as a car park for aircraft throughout the year and in the winter when the lake freezes, when they change the floaters of the planes for wheels and use it like a landing ground. The people that take care of the planes on the lake also have tents that they decorate which gives it an original style.
