    Where to stay in Toronto

    Bond Place Hotel
Strategically located next to Dundas Square, this was the numpteenth hotel that we stayed at during our trip to Canada. It looked inviting, perhaps even too much, since the room was a bit small and had a rather cramped the feeling. The bathroom was clean, well equipped with towels and bathing products. There was also a satellite TV. The room was not particularly soundproof and, whilst it wasn´t really a problem during the day, the central location was a problem at night because of the uproar you could hear on the street. The air conditioning apparatus, located right next to the bed, was somewhat noisy. Very attentive staff, lots of information available for the client, breakfast very good despite being an organized tour. Room access card which you also had to use in the elevator, too, starting at 10 pm. The best thing about this place is the location, which allowed us to get a taxi and walk to a lot of places in the center, and the area seemed very safe, but the truth is that in Canada I never felt unsafe.

    Cambridge Suites Toronto hotel
I stayed here the first time I was in Toronto, and it was perfect for my visit, close to plenty of attractions, restaurants and places to visit and see. From here I could walk to the famous CN Tower, St Lawrence market, and many other places. The rooms are comfortable, with a coffee maker, fridge, cable TV, nice amenities, air conditioning and heating, and a 24-hour business centre. On the top floor there's a gym, sauna, and hot tub that can be used by all the guests. Reserve the restaurant at least one day in advance, as it's very popular.

    Canadiana Backpackers Inn
I’d say this hostel is average for the price you pay. The location is great, within walking distance to sights, restaurants, and public transit. The staff members here are also friendly, and it’s an easy environment in which to meet people. However, I do think cleanliness in the bathrooms could be improved. Additionally, there are only two washers and two dryers, which can cause a competition to see who gets to the machines first. (It’s really not fun to have to compete to wash your clothes first.) The mattresses are also make loud squishy sounds, so light sleepers beware! I wouldn't necessarily choose to bunk here again, but it’s not the worst in the world. If you’re not particular about accommodations, this place is fine.

Hostal Clarence park y Cafe Neuf
On my second visit to Toronto I preferred to change hostel because the former was a little far from the center and had no atmosphere, so I went to Clarence Park, a quiet and pretty place because it was better rated. The problem was that I arrived at 22:30, and although when booking nothing was specifically indicated, the reception closes at 10pm, and even though I had paid for the reservation they wouldn't let me in. It was raining heavily, and the Italian night porter must have felt sorry for me because he let me in but I was not given a room key, so I could not go out for dinner. What I saw of the hostel was fine, with a large kitchen, a living room with large TV, free wifi, and very friendly with backpackers from around the world, and the bedrooms were not bad. In the bottom of the Victorian house where they are located they have opened a very nice French-style cafe with good croissants and coffee, but quite expensive.

    Delta Toronto hotel
We stayed at the brand new Delta Toronto hotel for New Year's Eve and had a wonderful time. The hotel recently opened in late 2014, so everything about it was brand new - the rooms, the lobby, and the restaurant. The room itself was clean, bright, and very comfortable with all kinds of modern amenities. The desk was huge and had just about every kind of plug adapter you could think of. The bathroom was spacious with premium toiletries. The room itself had a spectacular view of downtown Toronto, which allowed us to even view the New Year's Eve fireworks show at Nathan Phillips Square from our room! The hotel was decorated throughout with a modern take on Canadiana. There were giant murals of the Toronto skyline in bright colors. The hotel was also attached to the PATH system, an underground series of pedestrian tunnels that led us directly to the subway. This was incredibly convenient as we didn't have to even brave the chilly weather outside! We wouldn't hesitate to stay again at the Delta Toronto and highly recommend it to anyone staying in the city. It's close to the waterfront, the downtown core, and public transit that allows you to get anywhere you'd like!
